Sony Rebrand

New Sony logo by Dillon the Designer

Sony is a company who has not made any major changes to branding since 1957, and their current logo has been used since 1973. Sony also has several SBU's under their main brand, however none of them have cohesive branding. To reunite Sony brands, I have created a branding system to create unity throughout the brand.

The idea that Sony's new mark would have to be applied to several very different industries is one that resonated heavily with me. Due to Sony's size, the logo needed to have multiple layouts for use in different aspects. Sony is also a progressive company, meaning the new mark would need to appear very modern and be able to stand the test of time.

Along with the company rebrand, logo applications, and marketing and advertising material, I created an interactive ad campaign. When viewers see the new ads, the can pull out their smartphones and scan the ad. Once scanned, a VR tour of the SONY Square comes up on their phone. The gradient present in the ad dictates which room gets pulled up in the VR tour.

I also redesigned Sony's instagram feed, highlighting their new company colors, and using abstracted images to represent their offerings. SONY Square and other innovation centers are also highlighted.
